This research paper provides a review of literature looking at the economic value of higher and further education and training. The objective of the review was to formulate recommendations for the most appropriate ways of addressing each of the key issues in future analysis of the economic value added of these different forms of learning.

The British Medical Association's (BMA) Health Policy and Economic Research Unit undertakes an annual survey of medical students' finances on behalf of the Medical Students Committee. This report is the 24th report and presents the results of the 2010/11 survey comparing the results from previous surveys where possible. This year's finance survey received a high response, with over 2,800 medical students responding.
