AGCAS Teaching and Related Professions Task Group recruiting two new members

The Teaching and Related Professions Task Group is currently seeking to recruit two new colleagues to replace outgoing members.

The group informs and supports the wider AGCAS community to develop their knowledge of careers in the education sector, by producing material on Teaching for the Targetjobs website, additional publications made available through AGCAS, a regular news bulletin and occasional announcements. We also organise workshops and events and support individual careers practitioners with their queries. We engage with UCAS, NCTL and other key stakeholders to keep abreast of developments in the sector and to represent the interests of practitioners, students and graduates.

If you are interested in becoming a member of this friendly group, email your application to Margaret Evans, Task Group Chair, by Friday 15th September 2017. Please explain why you want to join the group and highlight the relevant skills, knowledge and experience you would bring. We’re not expecting you to be an expert, as long as you are committed to supporting AGCAS members by contributing to our publications and the delivery of events and sharing in the development of our activities, such as our plan to set up new regional groups for careers professionals with an interest in the education sector.

We would particularly like to hear from anyone who might be interested in taking on the role of chair in due course. The task group would ideally like to maintain its diversity through regional representation and range of institutions and would be keen to hear from applicants in a variety of roles within AGCAS member services. Those who have previously expressed an interest in joining the group are encouraged to apply.

We get together three times a year, twice in person and once virtually, and our next group meeting will be held on 19th December.

If you want to have a chat about what’s involved in being part of the group or find out more about our past and planned activities please feel free to contact or phone 0191 227 4203.
