    New TEF grading leaves institutions and opinions divided

    Following much anticipation in the HE sphere the results of the 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) have now been released. In total 134 UK universities and other higher education institutions have been awarded gold, silver or bronze ratings for the quality of their teaching.

    Update from the AGCAS Alumni Group

    The AGCAS Alumni Group consists of former AGCAS members who have retired or ceased to work in an AGCAS Service and who wish to remain in touch with former colleagues. The group is very informal and are now seeking to attract new members from those AGCAS members, who are about to, or have recently retired.

    Latest Longitudinal Outcomes (LEO) shows that the gender pay gap is present just one year after graduation

    The Department for Education (DfE) have released the third in a series of higher education data releases using Longitudinal Outcomes (LEO) data. LEO data shows how much UK graduates of different courses at different universities were earning, at one, three and five years after graduation.

    The latest report from the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) indicates that employers are significantly scaling-up their apprenticeship programmes in 2017 with hiring expected to increase by 59%.

    The Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) Development Survey 2017 showed that 20% of graduates leave by the first year after completing a graduate development programme, increasing to 46% after five years of employment.
