Resilience and Confidence Building for Students, Sheffield
Fri 26 May
How do the issues of resilience and confidence impact on the career development of students? How can we support the development and consolidation of both in a careers context? This AGCAS NE Regional Training day will give practitioners the opportunity to share ideas and good practice in enhancing both - not only in building resilience to deal with difficulties or setbacks but empowering students to have confidence in their own abilities.
We will utilise a combination of input from speakers, interactive exercises and the sharing of tools and techniques that participants already know and use.
Our guest speakers, from Hallam and beyond, will be addressing student well-being generally and the relationship between being happy and being successful.
We will explore non-deficit models of resilience building and self-efficacy and look at collective well-being and mutual support between students. We will also look at how to prepare for the world of work and to maximise the chances of being 'contented & successful' in the workplace; empowering students to meet the challenges of their early career experiences.
We'll try out some student confidence building and well-being exercises, and participants will have the chance to bring and share resources that they already use.
We will also have the chance to reflect on our own resilience as practitioners and participants are encouraged to have a go at the' iResilience' package before the day. http://www.robertsoncooper.com/iresilience/
