Wed 17 May
This year's AGCAS Alumni Reunion Event will take place in Hull on Wednesday 17 May. The programme will begin at 10am with refreshments and end around 3:30pm with all retired, about to retire and other former members of AGCAS welcome to attend.
Margeret Dane of the AGCAS Alumni Group explains more:
"We are delighted to announce that this year’s event will take place in Hull on Wednesday 17 May. Arranged by an East Yorkshire group of AGCAS Alumni, it is being hosted and generously supported by the Wilberforce Institute for the Study of Emancipation and Slavery based in the heart of Hull’s Old Town and museum sector. A warm welcome awaits all retired, about to retire and other former members of AGCAS interested in meeting up with former colleagues and socialising over good food & drink.
The programme will begin at 10am with refreshments and end around 3,30pm with options for further activities. Speakers will include Professor John Oldfield who specialises in the history of slavery and abolition, Valerie Metcalfe, former Director of the University of Hull Careers Service and currently a consultant in S. Africa and there will be a short AGCAS update & business session run by Margaret Dane, former AGCAS CEO & President."
Please do pass on this information to any other retired or former AGCAS members who you think might be interested in attending as we are keen to have as many AGCAS friends and colleagues there as possible. Anyone interested should contact Dick Lidwell by the end of March.
Please email Richard Lidwell or call on 01482 867720 if you would like to attend.
