Routes into Teaching, Oxford
Tue 06 Jun
The delivery of postgraduate initial teacher training has undergone substantial change since 2012-13.
We have seen a government-led move towards a more school-centric approach in which growing numbers of schools lead on recruitment and the delivery of training and the emergence of additional specialist routes into teaching.
These sit alongside existing University-led PGCE programmes and more established direct entry routes via Teach First and in the independent sector.
This event will provide an overview of the current options available for those considering a career in teaching in England and Wales.
We aim to give you the information you need to
• help students and graduates navigate the range of available opportunities
• develop meaningful work experience and make competitive applications
Contributors will include speakers from a range of initial teacher training providers, including School Direct, university-led PGCE and specialist options.
We hope this day will be useful and insightful to both experienced careers staff seeking an update on current teacher training routes and those who are perhaps new to advising on this sector.
A programme is available below and further information will be available soon.
