Education Alternatives, York
-
Thu 07 Jun 12
This event will explore alternatives to teaching in the classroom. Speakers will be invited to cover a whole range of opportunities in a variety of settings, including offender learning, museum education, out of school learning, playwork, family support and advocacy work, training and development and early years settings.
Most of the day will be taken up with presentations, which will take the form of a 'day in the life' and also include information and advice on issues such as entry requirements, relevant work experience, and the application process. There will be time allowed for Q&A.
By the end of the session, participants should be able to:
• better inform students and graduates they work with about the opportunities available to work in educational settings outside the classroom
• have increased their knowledge of entry requirements and further study opportunities
• be able to advise students and graduates on the nature of prior work experience
