Vacancies on the Advocacy Committee

AGCAS is currently seeking applications from members for eight vacant positions on the Advocacy Committee.

Following the recent launch of the AGCAS strategy, the AGCAS Board proposed the formation of a number of committees to take forward the strategic pillars.  

The Advocacy Committee is responsible for delivery of the Advocacy area of the strategy and will be working on the following strategic activities: 

•    To comprise a priority list of strategic partners with other Higher Education organisations to support AGCAS strategy and ambition.
•    To build links with these strategic partners to ensure AGCAS has and maintains visibility and presence in key policy and consultation agenda’s.
•    To support the development of a strong social media and media engagement strategy, with associated actions and priorities.
•    To support, source contributions and help in the construction of AGCAS policy and position statements. 

The committee will be expected to work with Universities UK, HEFCE, Higher Education Academy, Department of Education and other key stakeholders on a range of issues concerning higher education policy relating to careers education. 

The committee will meet four times a year and members will be appointed for a three year term. The Committee Terms of Reference are attached. 

All Full and Affiliate Members of AGCAS are eligible for committee membership however, we are keen to ensure that committees are inclusive and representative of the AGCAS membership and so we would particularly welcome applications from: 

•    The English Regions
•    All mission groups - Russell Group, UA, Million Plus, Guild HE Universities
•    Non-aligned Universities
•    All professional roles within HE Careers Services (including but not restricted to – Advisers, Employer Engagement, Information, Data and Marketing professionals)

AGCAS Scotland and AGCAS Wales will be asked to nominate committee members directly to support advocacy in the devolved nations.
