Vacancies on the Learning Committee

AGCAS is currently seeking applications from volunteer members for up to nine vacant positions on the Learning Committee

Following the recent launch of the AGCAS strategy, the AGCAS Board proposed the formation of a number of committees to take forward the strategic pillars of Learning, Advocacy, Community, Quality, Research and Knowledge.

The Learning Committee is responsible for delivery of the Learning area of the strategy and will be working on the following strategic activities:

•    Strategic action 1: Review the training and events programme to ensure CPD for all types/levels of careers professional mapping to the AGCAS professional standards (see Quality)
•    Strategic action 2: Ensure that the design, format and delivery of learning is open to all, and supports people with a range of learning needs

The committee works with other Committees, task groups, regional training groups and other key stakeholders on a range of issues concerning Professional Development so there is an opportunity to represent your professional association, and to see the impact of your contribution.

The committee will meet four times a year and members will be appointed for a three year term. Travel expenses for attending meeting will be paid by AGCAS. The Committee Terms of Reference are attached. The Committee will be supporting AGCAS to deliver its strategic aims, and so there will be an emphasis on implementation.

All Full and Affiliate Members of AGCAS are eligible for committee membership however, we are keen to ensure that committees are inclusive and representative of the AGCAS membership. So we would particularly welcome applications from a wide range of job roles, institutions, regions and mission groups to make sure our professional association benefits from this diversity.

Above all, we seek Learning Committee members with a demonstrable commitment to professional development – both your own development and that of others. We are particularly keen to hear from members with an interest in e-learning approaches.

We would like the Learning Committee to represent our membership so that we have input from:

•    The full range of professional roles in our member services eg Information, Employer Engagement and other
•    A variety of HE institutions
•    Regional representation
•    A mix of newer and more experienced professionals

If you are interested in joining this committee of the AGCAS Board, we would be very pleased to receive your application. Please complete the application to join an AGCAS Committee outlining your relevant experience and skills, and why you are interested in joining the group to Linda Byrne by Friday 19 May.
