Vacancy on the Phoenix Editorial Team

The Phoenix Editorial Team is looking to recruit a new member to the group to help produce AGCAS' digital journal. The team meets three times a year, at various locations throughout the UK, to discuss current issues in HE careers and highlight possible future themes of interest to readers.




Do they mean us?
Careers services have a track record for attracting negative media coverage. Paul Redmond, Head of Careers and Employability at the University of Liverpool and Vice-President of AGCAS, has a research interest in the topic. Are the critics justified and what can services do to fight back?




Phoenix May 2013 - call for articles

The next issue of Phoenix will be published in May. The editorial group is looking forward to receiving a wide range of articles on the following topics: the commercialisation of careers services; using technology; and graduate resilience and adaptability. The deadline for copy is Friday 1 March 2013.




Phoenix: October 2015 issue now available

The latest issue of Phoenix, the AGCAS journal, is now available. The theme of the October 2015 issue is Surviving and thriving through change. It features articles drawing on both individual approaches and wider service strategies to responding to, dealing with, managing and surviving the process of change.




Phoenix - February 2014 issue now available

The editorial team is seeking articles for the next issue of Phoenix, the AGCAS digital journal, which is due to be published in September 2014. In particular, they are interested in receiving contributions on the themes of structures and delivery models and globalisation.

The Phoenix Editorial Team is seeking articles for the next issue of AGCAS's digital journal, which is due to be published in February 2016. The main theme of the next issue will be Employer Engagement. The Editorial Team is interested in receiving examples of good/innovative practice, evidence of research, views or opinion pieces on a range of topics based on recent and/or previous experience of working with all types of employers from all sectors.

The AGCAS Phoenix Editorial Team is seeking articles and opinion pieces for the next issue of Phoenix, AGCAS's digital journal, due to be published in June 2016. The next issue will focus on the concept of graduate attributes within the employability landscape.

The latest edition of Phoenix, the AGCAS journal, is now available. The June 2016 issue focuses on graduate attributes, with articles outlining the various ways that HE careers and employability services are working with students and employers to raise awareness of the key attributes needed to attain graduate employment.

Despite being widely preached by universities, careers services and students alike, confusion still surrounds the graduate attributes agenda.  




Phoenix: Student well-being issue now available
The latest edition of Phoenix, the AGCAS journal, is now available. The October 2017 issue focuses on student well-being at a time when increasing numbers of students are reporting anxiety and presenting with symptoms of depression and emotional fragility.
