    Careers and Employability Services

Based in Milton Keynes or Nottingham

Need a new challenge? We are in a process of significant expansion and need someone to drive the quality assurance elements of our Service.  Careers and Employability is a strategic priority at the Open University.

This is a unique opportunity to lead the development and implementation of new quality assurance standards and procedures across all student, alumni and employer facing Careers and Employability Services.  This includes both one-to-one, forums, webinars and will have a focus on ensuring ongoing service improvement.

You will have a first degree and a relevant quality assurance qualification, or evidence or experience of substantial professional development in the field of quality assurance and standards. A professional careers qualification, or equivalent, would be useful, as would experience in delivering careers advice and guidance preferably within higher education and through online media.

We are looking for someone who can adapt rapidly to change, show initiative and solve problems creatively working with staff across the service and the University.

Our students’ circumstances vary widely including those in prison, with caring responsibilities, from widening participation backgrounds and with disabilities. We support students at every career stage, focusing on employability and career progression, as well as retention, and satisfaction. An understanding of the needs of adult or distance learners is therefore an advantage.
